Damian Family Care Centers

Recognizing the link between primary care and people in need of substance use treatment, Samaritan Daytop Village was an industry leader in incorporating primary healthcare clinics at each of its residential drug treatment facilities. Damian Family Care Centers (DFCC), originally established as Samaritan Health Service in 1996 by Samaritan Daytop Village, is now an independent organization and a critical agency partner. DFCC provide on-site primary healthcare and mental health services to our clients through a network of clinics located at Samaritan Daytop Village’s treatment facilities in the Bronx, Queens, Manhattan, and Ellenville. New York. DFCC provides comprehensive primary healthcare services, offers specialists in internal medicine, dentistry, optometry, gynecology, HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis C care and health education. DFCC also provides extensive mental health services including individual, family and group counseling by DFCC’s psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioner, and health education.

Outreach

Pressures and challenges often do not wait until we reach the crossroads of adulthood, so Samaritan Daytop Village entered into an alliance with Outreach. Specializing in residential and outpatient programs for teens and adolescents, intensive day treatment for women and women with children, and the training of professionals for careers in treating addiction and behavioral health at the Outreach Training Institute, Outreach extends substance use treatment services to young people and their families, women, and other specialized populations, through referral, and provides opportunities for collaborative staff training and professional development.

Criminal Justice

Samaritan Daytop Village provides structured treatment experiences for clients referred to us by the criminal justice system. Recognizing the link between criminal justice and substance use, Samaritan Daytop Village helped develop innovative alternatives to Incarceration programs in partnership with the criminal justice system. We work closely with the New York City Departments of Corrections and Probation, the NYC Treatment Alternatives to Safer Communities (TASC) Program, an initiative of the Education and Assistance Corp.; Drug Treatment Alternatives to Prison (DTAP) Program; New York State Division of Parole; Federal Probation; and District Attorney’s offices in all five boroughs. We also partner with the state’s drug and problem solving court system, which includes veterans and domestic violence courts.

Workforce 1

Samaritan Daytop Village has a strong collaborative relationship with the NYC Department of Small Business Services' network of Workforce 1 Career Centers. With locations throughout the five boroughs, Workforce 1 Career Centers offer a range of services to connect job seekers with job opportunities. This includes job and career counseling, educational services and referrals to job training programs. Samaritan Daytop Village's vocational services staff work closely with Workforce 1 Centers in Queens, Manhattan, Brooklyn and the Bronx with the goal of providing clients in our programs with the assistance they need to become gainfully employed and self sufficient.

Westchester County Department of Social Services

Samaritan Daytop Village understands that substance use affects the entire family and the recognizable link between drug addiction and child abuse/neglect. Through the Westchester Assessment and Referral Program, our substance use disorder specialists work hand-in-hand with the Westchester County Department of Social Services (DSS). Along side DSS staff, we visit at-risk families and provide assessments and referrals to appropriate substance use treatment services when necessary.
