Assistant Vice President of Shelter and Housing Services
As Assistant Vice President of Shelter and Housing Services, Jerry Heaney manages Samaritan Daytop Village's portfolio of programs to assist homeless New Yorkers. This includes transitional and permanent supportive housing facilities, and housing assistance programs.
Mr. Heaney joined Samaritan Daytop Village in 1990. He previously served as the Program Director for the Van Siclen Women’s Shelter, Wards Island Program, Forbell Men’s Shelter and the agency’s outreach team. Mr. Heaney also worked as an Assistant Program Director, Clinical Supervisor and a Case Manager while with the agency. In 2015, Mr. Heaney was promoted to Senior Director of the Real Estate and Housing Division, overseeing the agency’s single shelter sites. Mr. Heaney holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Community and Human Services from Empire State College and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from John Jay College.
