We believe strongly that education is vital to the process of making lasting, positive changes in people’s lives. Whether you’re an individual looking to make a difference or part of an organization seeking to improve the services you offer, our community training programs provide the knowledge to help.
Narcan (naloxone) is a breakthrough medication used to reverse opioid overdoses. Our Narcan Training provides participants with the knowledge and hands-on experience to recognize an opioid overdose and administer Narcan effectively. This training is crucial for anyone working with individuals at risk of opioid misuse and can be life-saving by equipping community members with the skills they need to act quickly in an emergency.
Understanding mental health conditions is vital for creating supportive environments for individuals experiencing mental health challenges. Our Mental Health First Aid training focuses on increasing awareness, understanding, and providing strategies for managing mental health crises. This training covers topics such as:
• Identifying signs and symptoms of common mental health conditions
• Crisis intervention strategies
• Providing support and referrals to appropriate services
In addition to Narcan administration and Mental Health First Aid, Samaritan Daytop Village has a variety of other training opportunities to support the community in addressing addiction, recovery, and mental wellness. These trainings include:
• Substance Use Prevention: Discover tools and strategies to prevent substance use in your community.
• Trauma-Informed Care: Understand how trauma impacts behavior and how to provide sensitive, effective care.
