Working with our business and community supporters, Samaritan Daytop Foundation annually hosts fundraisers to raise dollars to support the work of Samaritan Daytop Village. Our special events offer valuable sponsorship opportunities as well as auctions and raffles featuring donated prizes and experiences.

Where Good LivesTM Gala

Our largest fundraiser of the year, the Where Good LivesTM Gala places the spotlight on the people and programs who make good possible every day of the year. Over 300 people attend the Gala to honor individuals who share a commitment to good. Funds raised at the Gala translate into innovative programs, enhanced services and facility improvements across all sites operated by Samaritan Daytop Village.

This year our 5th Annual Gala will take place on Wednesday, October 14, 2020. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are streaming this highly anticipated event to you as a Virtual Gala. Featuring exciting honorees and special guests, the Virtual Gala presents exclusive opportunities to network with a wide range of attendees on a live streaming platform. This year we mark the 60th anniversary of Samaritan Daytop Village.

Your support helps transform thousands of lives for the better - "It's a Matter of the Heart, Needed Now More than Ever." To purchase tickets or learn about sponsorship opportunities, contact Event Consultant Dwight Johnson at or 212-889-4694.

The Eric D. Hadar Family Foundation

Samaritan Daytop Foundation has seen year-over-year growth in donation levels. This is thanks in large part to the generosity of The Eric D. Hadar Family Foundation and its founder Eric Hadar of Allied Partners, Inc. Through his Family Foundation, Mr. Hadar has given nearly $1.2 million to Samaritan Daytop Foundation since joining the agency’s board of directors in 2016.

In 2018, Mr. Hadar issued the $1 Million Matching Challenge, raising the bar on annual donations. Through this fundraising initiative, The Eric D. Hadar Family Foundation matched dollar for dollar each donation made to Samaritan Daytop Foundation up to $500,000. Through the Challenge, we raised more in one year than ever before — $1.028 million. We are forever grateful for the support we have received from our board member Eric Hadar and The Eric D. Hadar Family Foundation.

Annual Golf Invitational & Dinner

Hosted by Samaritan Daytop Village Board member Vincent F. Pitta, Esq., our Annual Golf Invitational & Dinner features a day of golf on the greens of the Richmond County Country Club in Staten Island. The dinner portion of the day includes awards, raffles, and a presentation to an honoree who is making a difference in the community. Our 5th annual golf outing is scheduled for Monday, August 17, 2020. For information on how to purchase foursomes or a sponsorship, contact the Development Department.

Carmine's Cigars Golf Outing

Each year, Carmine's Cigars Tobacco Shop proudly partners with Samaritan Daytop Foundation to organize the annual Carmine's Cigars Golf Outing in Staten Island. The day features golf at the La Tourette Golf Course, post-golf barbecue at Carmine's Cigars, raffle prizes and (of course) cigars. The 5th annual event will tee off on Saturday, September 12, 2020. Contact the Development Department for details on how to purchase foursomes and sponsorships.
