Our Daytop Preparatory Schools in Suffolk County and Rockland County offer an alternative education path for students with behavioral health needs. The private schools—approved and registered by the New York State Education Department—provide a supportive, structured environment in an academic setting.
Established in 2000, Daytop Preparatory Schools provide a safe and focused learning environment for middle and high school students who may not thrive in traditional school settings due to behavioral health challenges.

Daytop Preparatory Schools also accept students who are temporarily placed with us due to suspension or expulsion, providing them with the educational support they need during difficult times.
Some families do not live within Blauvelt or Huntington Station. We can arrange for pick-up and drop-off through one of our school vehicles.
Daytop Preparatory Schools serves every student a free breakfast and lunch.
