Vice President of Development and Communications

Jill Poklemba is the Vice President of Development and Communications at Samaritan Daytop Village. She has over 20 years of experience in development, public policy, and communications with organizations focused on social change.

Prior to joining Samaritan Daytop Village, Ms. Poklemba oversaw the Gay Men’s Health Crisis’ institutional grants portfolio, which included Federal, State, and City government applications and private foundation grants. At OnPointNYC, she maximized private donations for the nation’s first government-sanctioned Overdose Prevention Centers as well as government funding for other harm reduction and health care services for people who use drugs.

Previously, Ms. Poklemba served as the Vice President of Advancement at the Girl Scouts of Greater New York and spent nine years as the Vice President of Development and Communications with The Fortune Society, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting successful re-entry and alternatives to incarceration.

For the government, Ms. Poklemba began her career as a Program Associate in the Communications & Speechwriting Office of NYS Comptroller Carl McCall. She was also a Legislative Analyst for the NYS Assembly’s Committee on Social Services and a Committee Assistant for the Committee on Children and Families.

Ms. Poklemba obtained a Master's degree in Public Policy from Rockefeller College at SUNY Albany, and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the College of William & Mary.
