New Primary Care Clinic Brings Healthcare to All

Integrative health treats the whole person not just the ailment. Using this holistic, person-centered approach, integrative health providers diagnose and treat both the patient’s physical and mental wellbeing.

Integrative health is not a new concept to Samaritan Daytop Village. The nonprofit has offered integrative health services for five decades. In the 1970s, the agency began offering primary health care services to clients in treatment who had Hepatitis C, HIV/AIDS, diabetes, hypertension, and other chronic diseases.

Now Samaritan Daytop Village will partner with the soon to open Samaritan Daytop Health, a primary care clinic in the Bronx.

Located on the sixth floor of The Richard Pruss Wellness Center, Samaritan Daytop Health serves the Mott Haven and Hunts Point communities, as well as clients of Samaritan Daytop Village’s behavioral health programs.

The unhoused, uninsured, and medically underserved can rely on the clinic as a high-quality resource for health and wellness. Patients can receive adult primary care, clinical lab services, case management, nutritional and dietary counseling, and outpatient mental health services.

In addition, clients accessing other programs at The Richard Pruss Wellness Center can choose Samaritan Daytop Health as their primary care services provider. On an as-needed basis, diagnostic and treatment services are available through referrals from the following programs:

  • Hope Care Management
  • Independence Outpatient Treatment Program
  • Mott Haven Opioid Treatment Program
  • New Beginnings Community Counseling Center
  • PARC (Peer Alliance Recovery Center) Bronx
  • Pathway Home

Additionally, Samaritan Daytop Village’s Central Admissions, also located within the building, will refer new arrivals with substance use or co-occurring disorders to the clinic for any immediate healthcare needs and required clinical diagnostic tests.

The buzz around the clinic has been strong. An Open House in August attracted 140 prospective patients. The clinic plans to register more individuals at upcoming health fairs at several Samaritan Daytop Village locations.

Samaritan Daytop Health has a full staff of clinically licensed healthcare professionals including Medical Director Gregory Bunt, MD, and a staff of licensed Nurses, Health Navigators, and Case Managers.

The clinic accepts most major healthcare insurance, as well as Medicare and Medicaid. Walk-ins are welcome.

Samaritan Daytop Health will soon be opening at The Richard Pruss Wellness Center, 510 Courtlandt Ave., 6th Floor, Bronx, NY 10455. For questions or to schedule an appointment, call 347-577-8080.

Samaritan Daytop Health is licensed by the New York State Department of Health as an Article 28 clinic.
